Lavendar Lemonade

Prep Time

10 minutes

Prep Notes

This refreshing beverage can be poured over ice or poured into a ice cream maker to make a frozen drink.  Turn it into a yummy "adult" beverage by adding vodka during the finally 2-3 minutes of the ice cream cycle or add desired quantity to the non-frozen version.

Yields

1/2 gallon

Ingredients

1 cup of honey (Clary Sage and Clover Honey are especially delicious in this recipe)

2 Tablespoons dried lavender flowers (adjust to your taste)

1/2 cup hot water

1 cup fresh squeezed lemon juice (do not use concentrate)

1/2 gallon of cold water

Optional: Vodka (we like the Rain brand of vodka). Use quantity you desire.

Directions

Put the honey and lavender into a glass pitcher

Add hot water and stir until honey is dissolved

Add lemon juice

Add cold water

Optional:  Add Vodka

Stir well and chill for one hour.  Using a mesh strainer, pour Lavender Lemonade into glasses filled with ice.

For a frozen beverage, mix all of the ingredients together except the vodka and pour into an ice cream maker.  Once the beverage begins to get very icy but still slushy, pour in the desired quantity of vodka and continue to let it freeze until the desired consistency is reached.  Pour into martini or margarita glasses.
