Cornbread Southern Style

We don't recommend eating cornbread on a regular basis but for the occasional comfort food urge to have along with chili or soup....well, we think that it is perfectly o.k. and this recipe is really tasty.

Cooking Time

20-25 minutes

Ingredients

1 cup all-purpose organic white flour

1 cup organic yellow cornmeal

1/4  cup of all-natural sugar (optional).  We recommend organic Florida Crystals

4 teaspoons baking powder

3/4 teaspoon sea salt

2 eggs

1 cup 2% organic milk

1/4 cup organic sunflower oil

Directions

Preheat oven to 425 degrees.

Mix all dry ingredients together in a medium bowl.

In a small bowl slightly beat eggs,

Pour beaten eggs, milk, oil into the bowl of dry ingredients.  Mix just until smooth.

Pour into a greased 9x9x2 baking pan or loaf pan of your choice.

Bake 20-25 minutes until top is golden brown.

Remove from oven and let stand in pan for 10 minutes.  Remove from pan and let cool on a wire rack.
